" Knitting for Beginners: The A-Z Guide to Have You Knitting in 3 Days " by Emma Brown For the total novice, this best selling book will cover . This clear and simple book is ideal for anyone who wants to learn the art of knitting with different coloured yarns.       A Beginner's Guide to Sewing With Knits When sewing with knit fabrics, often the SEAM NEEDS TO BE ABLE TO STRETCH along with the fabric. If you just sew a straight seam you run the risk of either not being able to put on your garment or of the seam thread snapping. There are several ways to achieve a seam which can stretch. The Yarnspirations How To hub is your one-stop shop for all you need to know to pick up a new skill or level up the skills you already have. With a library full of videos, tutorials, pictorials, diagrams and tips & tricks, you're sure to find something to help you get creating.

Three of my favourite books. 1. Claire Shaeffer’s Fabric Sewing Guide is a great encyclopaedic guide to the selection, wear, care and sewing of all fabric types. 2. Sewing – Workshop in a Book starts at the beginning from choosing tools to learning techniques and comes with a DVD. 3. Starting with just four of these stitches, Jane clearly demonstrates, with detailed step-by-step photographs, how to work up a complete project. Instructions follow on showing how to stretch and mount your first embroidery. Using further projects she helps you build up skills, introducing new stitches in each section. Line drawings accompany each design and are used as a guide for the stitches.
